In the past, ubuntu was installed on the hard disk. After Windows 7 was reinstalled, it failed to enter ubuntu. I didn't want to use livecd to fix it. I used to use a USB flash drive and thought it was too troublesome. Find a more convenient and practical method to restore Ubuntu boot.
I thought of using grub4dos for guidance, because it was also used during hard disk installation.
Download the latest grub4dos-0.4.5b, decompress it, and put the grldr. MBR and grldr files into the C drive and directory.
1. Create a text file and enter the followingCode, And save it as boot. ini.

2. Create a text file and enter the following code to save it as menu. lst.

3. The above code will automatically search for Ubuntu on your hard disk. OK is that simple. In the future, it will be easier to reinstall windows or delete ubuntu.
My boot has no separate partitions. I only divided two partitions, // and/home. The menu. LST file may be different when the boot is separately partitioned.
If the boot is partitioned separately, Menu. lst

If you are interested, you can also install grub4dos on a USB flash disk or memory card. If neither of the two systems can be used in the future, you can use a USB flash drive to guide Ubuntu's ISO image into the livecd mode to fix the startup items, in this way, you do not need to use a USB flash drive for livecd. Using a USB flash drive as livecd is too troublesome. You have to format the USB flash drive every time. If you keep putting livecd on the USB flash drive, it occupies too much space.
The file in the attachment is the four files extracted from my drive C and directory, Because I installed another XP system, so boot. the INI file will be a little different from the one mentioned above. You can also change it as appropriate. For dual systems, simply do what I have mentioned above, and Win XP and Ubuntu can also be used.
This method theoretically supports windows (XP/win7) and Ubuntu series (ubuntu10.04, 10.10, 11.04, ylmf os3.0, deepin 10.12). After windows is reinstalled, restore the Ubuntu Startup menu. Wubi installation does not need to be tried, it is useless.
