Error 1: The parent virtual disk has been modified since the child was created

Error 2: One of the disks in this virtual machine is already in use by a virtual machine or by a snapshot.

 

First, let's talk about the causes of these two errors:

Today, due to the installation of software in the linux System of the virtual machine, there was an interruption during the installation process. The vm prompts that the disk space is insufficient. I have a power failure and re-checked the disk space in the system.

If there is more than 10% of the space in the system, there is enough space in the system. If you try to install it again, the system still prompts that the disk space is insufficient and the system crashes again. View the disk in windows where the OS is located,

It is found that the external disk space is insufficient.

 

Come back in the evening and move the previous virtual disk files such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4-s001.vmdk to another directory to start it again.

I couldn't get started directly. I was afraid that I could move the removed Virtual Disk file back and start it again, but still couldn't start it. Error 2 was prompted:

Unable open "XXXX file", One of the disks in this virtual machine is already in use by a virtual machine or by a snapshot.

Then, edit the VM settings and find that error 1 is displayed in the Hard Disk item.

After correction, it is found that error 1 does not exist, but Error 2 still exists.

Then baidu can see the description of the only edge: One of the disks in this virtual machine is already in use by a virtual machine or by a snapsho

Then google knows that it is indeed caused by moving the virtual disk file. Here we can only delete the previously backed up image: menu bar-> VM-> snapshot manager: delete the previously created image

After that, restart the system. OK, you can enter.

I was so touched that I was able to recover. Otherwise, I went crazy when I couldn't find so many important materials. It seems that I couldn't tamper with those files in the future. I didn't expect such a shit error to happen when I moved the files.
