I. Error 678 during dialing

Fault performance: Windows XP SP2 operating system, ADSL virtual dialing user. The error 678 is displayed when you click "Broadband connection. According to the fault code, it is an ADSL Broadband account or Password error fault. However, after the password of the ADSL account is changed with the help of the broadband customer service, the fault still exists.

ADSL dial-up connection

Fault resolution: According to the error code provided by the system, we can know that this is a fault caused by incorrect ADSL bandwidth user name or password. According to the error code prompt, after the ADSL password is reset in the Customer Service Center of the broadband network, the fault still persists. This proves that the ADSL account and password are abnormal. Generally, the following situations may cause abnormal ADSL accounts and passwords:

① Account locked: at present, ADSL dial-up servers in some provinces and cities have been upgraded. To protect accounts from theft, the account locking function has been enabled for dial-up servers in many places. To facilitate ADSL users, many broadband operators provide broadband self-help services. Users can modify the password of the ADSL Broadband Access account on their own. Once the system detects that users are not logged on using their own ADSL account, the account is automatically locked. In addition, when someone attempts to crack the ADSL account and password, the system will also lock the ADSL Broadband Access account.

You can wait for the system to unlock, or find a broadband operator to manually unlock the device. After the account is locked, the user enters the correct user name and password and cannot be connected. A 678 error message is displayed.

② Incorrect username and password: When an incorrect ADSL account and password are entered, the system will also receive a 678 error message.

③ Account theft: in some regions, the ADSL account is not bundled with a fixed phone number. Once the ADSL account is stolen, A 678 error message will appear when the user dials again.

When a 678 error code occurs during ADSL dial-up, you need to analyze the cause of the failure of the broadband connection based on the actual situation. After the password is reset, the fault still persists. The real cause of the fault is that the account is stolen or the account is locked. Because the local ADSL account and the landline phone have been bound, it seems that the fault is only because the ADSL account is locked. Find a new broadband customer service, unlock the account, and release the fault.

2. ADSL Broadband lines cannot be activated

Fault analysis: the ADSL Broadband Modem cannot be activated after power-back, or it cannot be activated for a long time. This proves that the quality of the ADSL line is faulty. Because the ADSL Broadband and voice communication are not in the same frequency band, the voice communication is normal, it can prove that the physical line in the user's home is normal. The only possible cause is poor line contact between the local data center of the broadband operator, which causes the ADSL line to fail to be activated normally.

The ADSL Modem in the center is called the ATU-CADSL Transmission Unit-Central ). The DSLAM node is responsible for sending data and voice signals to different switching devices separately, which means that users have independent data lines and voice lines in the broadband carrier's data center. Therefore, the user's ADSL line cannot be activated, and it can be preliminarily determined that it is a local line problem.

Because the user's ADSL line can be occasionally activated, it proves that the line of the local data center of the broadband carrier is oxidized and the oxidation is not very serious. Pick up the phone receiver, and repeat several times, the current can penetrate the oxide layer. After the phone receiver is picked up repeatedly, the ADSL line is activated and the Modem configuration interface is checked. The speed is normal and the fault is completely solved.

Although ADSL is a broadband access technology attached to a steel cable of a telephone line, you must understand the access layer technology of ADSL Broadband to quickly and accurately solve ADSL Broadband faults, only when a fault is identified will the fault be accurate and the handling process will not take a detour.

3. MSN video cannot be connected

Fault performance: after purchasing a router to share the Internet, the MSN video is always unable to connect. Every time a video connection is initiated through MSN, it ends up with a failure.

As a new notebook is added, the user can only purchase a wireless router to share the internet. Before using the vro, it is normal to use MSN to initiate a video connection. It seems that the crux of the fault is the router.

Obviously, in the self-organized LAN, Voice Chat cannot be implemented without enabling the UPnP function of the router. To solve this problem, you must enable the UPNP function in the router so that MSN can chat in the LAN.

Go to the management interface of the wireless router, find "UPnP Settings" in "forwarding rules", and enable UPnp forwarding. Then, each machine in the LAN can use MSN for video chat.

Fault comment: On the surface, after the vro is installed, the video chat function of MSN is limited, which seems to be a fault caused by the vro. If you want to troubleshoot such a fault, you must understand the network environment required by MSN video chat and find out the cause of the fault completely, instead of staying on the surface.

4. Irregular ADSL bandwidth disconnection

After the cable is dropped, observe the status of the Modem indicator. During the disconnection process, the ADSL line is always active.

Because of the irregular disconnection, it can be preliminarily determined that the fault is caused by the user's operating system or improper configuration. Due to the existence of a large amount of static electricity, the communication between the network card and the broadband Modem may be affected. Once the communication between the network card and the broadband Modem is affected, the ADSL dial-up server will be offline by default, the user's dial-up connection is automatically suspended. Although it is a brand machine, there is no perfect grounding measures, but in desperation, you can only twist a ground wire on the chassis screws, and then connect to the heating pipe. After the installation of your own grounding measures is complete, dial up the Internet to remove the fault.
