Ubuntu 4.8 Based on Linux Kernel 16.10 will be released soon
Earlier today, we were surprised to find that Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) is already based on the Linux Kernel 4.8 branch, and the Linux 4.8 branch is still under development. The final version will be officially launched on April 9, October 2 this year. Previously, Ubuntu 16.10 continued the tradition of Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus). It was based on the Linux 4.4 series kernel that has been supported for a long time. However, the developer version of Ubuntu 16.10 previously tried to use the Linux 4.7 kernel.
The Final Beta version of Ubuntu 16.10 will be released on April 9, September 22. In fact, this is the only Beta version of Ubuntu 1st, but some of them can be flavors, such as Ubuntu MATE, Ubuntu GNOME, KUbuntu, Xubuntu, and Lubuntu, ubuntu Kylin and Ubuntu Studio will have 2nd Beta versions.
