After the openwrt system is refreshed, the "Restore factory settings" button of the buffalo router also becomes invalid. It is estimated that the compatibility of the openwrt system is a problem. A friend sent a WZR-HP-300NH of buffalo router, but the system was flushed into openwrt, and do not know the Administrator Account Password =... After the openwrt system is refreshed, the "Restore factory settings" button of the buffalo router also becomes invalid. It is estimated that the compatibility of the openwrt system is a problem. You can only find a way to refresh the system.

I found a tutorial on tftp flash machine on google. I thought it was a very simple task. The result was still a few days ago. The following describes how to test successfully:

Tools to be prepared: one PC (My Ubuntu system), one network cable, buffalo router, another switch or router (I use tengda router ).

1, enter Ubuntu, download to brush the system package, want to go or go to the official website to download the DD-WRT system package to brush, link address: http://www.buffalotech.com/support-and-downloads/downloads, download speed is very slow.

2. Connect the buffalo router to a vswitch or another vro through a network cable. I used the tengda vro which I have been using for a long time (it is not very stable and electronic products are like this, ). For convenience, the following describes how to use the tengda router to distinguish it from the buffalo router.

3. Connect the PC to the tengda router (wifi or network cable), log on to the tengda router, adjust the LAN segment of the tengda router to the 192.168.11.xxx network segment, and assign a fixed ip address 192.168.11.1 to the buffalo router, assign a fixed ip address 192.168.11.2 to the PC.

4. Go to Ubuntu and run the following command to add information about the buffalo router to the arp cache list of Ubuntu:

Sudo arp-s 192.168.11.1 xx: xx

Xx: xx is the mac address of the buffalo router, which can be found on the label behind the buffalo router. Arp is an Address Resolution Protocol that resolves IP addresses to mac physical addresses when sending packets.

5. Install the tftp package. On the Ubuntu terminal, run the following command to install the package:

Sudo apt-get update
Sudo apt-get install tftp-hpa

6. Use the tftp Command to transfer the system package:

Tftp 192.168.11.1

Tftp> verbose
Tftp> binary
Tftp> trace
Tftp> rexmt 1
Tftp> timeout 60
Tftp> put wzrhpg300nh-pro-v24sp2-14998b.enc

Finally, the put command parameter is the file name of the system package. After executing this command, tftp will start to search for the target machine to transfer the system package of 192.168.11.1. If the target machine does not respond, a timeout will be displayed 60 seconds later. Therefore, after executing this command, you must immediately remove the buffaloo route and restart it. Buffalo can only receive the system package sent by tftp and reinstall the system within a few seconds after power-on. If it is missed, it will automatically enter the original system. During the transmission of the system package, the data of the tftp data packet is displayed on the terminal. After the transmission is completed, the transmission is successful. At this time, the buffalo router starts to update the system, and The diag red light on the buffalo router starts to flash. This process takes several minutes or even ten minutes. Wait patiently until the red light stops flashing and the system reinstalls the service. buffalo restarts automatically.

After the instance is restarted, use a network cable to connect the buffalo route to the computer. Then, access the buffalo router through 192.168.11.1 in the browser. The first access will go to the account and password settings page, set your account name and password, and then you will be able to go to the buffalo router settings page. Click here to complete the process.

The most important part of the entire process is to assign a fixed IP address to a vswitch or another vro (the tengda vro above. Previously, most of the tutorial steps on the Internet were to install the tftp tool, use a network cable to directly connect the computer and router, and set the network and IP address of the computer, use the tftp tool to transfer the buffalo system package to the buffalo router. During the tftp transmission system package, it takes a certain period of time to restart buffalo. Some say 10 seconds, and some say 10 seconds... I feel so unreliable, and I have never succeeded in these methods. Basically, after the put command of tftp is executed, it times out and cannot connect to the buffalo router. I guess that the ip address 192.168.11.1 is not correctly allocated to the buffalo router in the mode where the buffalo router can receive tftp data after power failure and restart. After the PC network ip address is allocated successfully, buffalo has switched to the receiving tftp data mode and normally enters the current system of the buffalo router. Therefore, another vswitch or vro is used to forcibly allocate a fixed ip address to ensure that the ip address assigned by the buffalo Router does not change during power-off and restart.
