This article mainly describes how to install a flat theme called Flatabulous. It may also work on other platforms, but I have tested it only on Ubuntu platforms.
Terminal
In order to install this theme, you must first install the Ubuntu tweak tool ( Translator Note: a management software, but you can also use the Unity Tweek tool). It can be conveniently installed via the command line:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:tualatrix/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-tweak
Or you can click on the link above to download the. deb file (recommended).
Next, you can download the topic resources here. If you are a developer or a designer, I encourage you to contribute to it. Next, you need to create a new folder called. Theme in your home directory. can open terminal Quick Create, run:
mkdir .themes
This is a hidden directory, in order to be able to browse it, you can press the ctrl+H
key. Then put the downloaded theme under the. Themes folder. Alternatively, you can put the theme file /usr/share/themes/
under the folder.
Flat icon
Dash panel
For icons, I use the ultra-flat-icons theme. It consists of blue (recommended), Orange and mint green Three colors. You can install it by using the following command:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:noobslab/icons
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install ultra-flat-icons
In addition, you can also use sudo apt-get install ultra-flat-icons-orange
or sudo apt-get install ultra-flat-icons-green
to install the other two colors.
Depending on your color preference. I recommend this flat icon, but you can also look at Numix and flattr.
Now go to your dash panel, find Ubuntu Tweek and start it. Find the Theme option and select the Flatabulous theme. Find the Icon option and select Ultra-flat. Then reboot your computer and it should be ready. Your computer will look like the following:
