HP Linux Imaging and printing (hpc ip) is an open source package for the Linux community sponsored by HP to provide a full-featured HP printer driver.

After this package is installed, thousands of HP printers are supported by default in Ubuntu and other Linux distributions. The number of supported printers is being added on a regular basis and more than 2,300 HP printers are currently supported.

This version, 3.14.3 added support for more printers, including HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 4640 e-All-in-One Printer series, HP LaserJet Pro MFP M126nw, support for Debian 6.0.9, 7.3, 7.4, and Fedora 20.

In addition to adding support for new printers and systems, some prominent problems have also been solved in this version. Fixes include the HP Officejet 6100 feature to locate problems, prevent interactions in the second Fax queue, and the HP OfficeJet 7619 series lack the No '6 3/4 envelope media size.

Install/upgrade to this version. PLEASE PRESSCtrl-Alt-TTo open the terminal. When it is opened, run the following command to download the software package.

1. Wget http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/hplip/hplip-3.14.3.run

Then, run the following command to install the SDK.

1. Sh hplip-3.14.3.run
