Friends sent a WZR-HP-300NH buffalo router, but the system was brushed into openwrt, but also do not know the Administrator account Password = ... Brush the OPENWRT system, Buffalo router Restore factory Settings button also failed, is estimated to be openwrt system compatibility problem, can only be a way to re-brush the system.

Google found the next TFTP brush tutorial, it was thought to be very simple things, the result is still tossing for several days. Here's how I tested success:

Tools to prepare: A PC (my Ubuntu system), a network cable, a Buffalo router, another switch or router (I use the Tengda router).

1, into Ubuntu, download a good system package to brush, want to go or go to the official website to download the DD-WRT System Package to brush, link address: http://www.buffalotech.com/support-and-downloads/downloads , but the download speed is slow.

2, the Buffalo router with a network cable to connect the switch or other routers, I used to have been in use of the Tengda router (with a long time is not very stable, electronic products are so, do not spit groove). For convenience, the following directly with the Tengda router to show the difference with Buffalo router.

3, PC connection Tengda router (wifi or network cable can), login Tengda router, the Tengda router LAN network segment to adjust to 192.168.11.xxx network segment, assign fixed IP 192.168.11.1 to Buffalo router, assign fixed IP 192.168.11.2 to PC.

4. Enter Ubuntu and use the following command to add the Buffalo router information to the ARP cache list on Ubuntu:

sudo arp-s 192.168.11.1 xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
The XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX is the MAC address of the Buffalo router, which can be found on the label behind the Buffalo router. ARP is an address Resolution protocol that resolves an IP address to a Mac physical address when sending a message.

5, install the TFTP software package, under Ubuntu Terminal, use the following command to install:

sudo apt-get updatesudo apt-get install TFTP-HPA

6. Use the TFTP command to deliver the System package:

TFTP 192.168.11.1tftp> verbosetftp> binarytftp> tracetftp> rexmt 1tftp> timeout 60tftp> put Wzrhpg300nh-pro-v24sp2-14998b.enc
The parameter of the last put instruction is the file name of the System package. After executing this command, TFTP will start looking for the 192.168.11.1 target machine delivery System package, and if the target machine is unresponsive, the timeout will be displayed after 60 seconds. So after executing this command, the buffalo must be routed to the power-off reboot immediately. Buffalo only a few seconds after the power on to receive the TFTP sent over the system package and re-install the system, miss this time will automatically enter the original system. During the transmission of the system package, the data of the TFTP transfer packet is displayed on the terminal, and the transmission is displayed successfully after the transfer is complete. At this point, the Buffalo router starts to update the system, and the DIAG red light on the buffalo router starts flashing, which takes several minutes or even more than 10 minutes. Wait patiently for the red light to stop flashing, the system will reload, and the buffalo will restart automatically.

After rebooting, the Buffalo route is routed to the computer using a network cable, and the Buffalo router can be accessed via the 192.168.11.1 address in the browser. The first visit will enter the Setup account and password interface, set their own account name and password, then can enter the Buffalo Router Setup interface, Brush Buffalo router system to this end.

The whole process of brush system is most important is the switch or another router (above the TENGDA router) assigned a fixed IP address. Previous steps to find most of the tutorials on the web were first to install the TFTP tool, connect the computer and router directly with a network cable, set up the computer's network and IP, and then use the TFTP tool to transfer the Buffalo System package to the Buffalo router. TFTP transmission System Package in the process to pinch time to Buffalo power to restart, some say 10 seconds, some say 10 seconds ... The feeling is too unreliable, and these methods I have not succeeded. Basically, after the TFTP put command finishes executing, the Buffalo router is not connected. My guess is that the Buffalo router can receive TFTP data after a power-off reboot, and the PC does not correctly assign the 192.168.11.1 IP to the Buffalo router. After the PC network IP assignment is successful, Buffalo has switched the receiving TFTP data mode and entered the current system of the buffalo router normally. Therefore, another switch or router is used to forcibly assign a fixed IP to ensure that the IP assigned to the Buffalo router during power-down restarts does not change.
