Ubuntu under Install sublime Text 2

Sublime is an excellent editor, both in Linux and in the Windows system. The installation process is documented here.

1. Download Sublime Text 2.0.2.tar.bz2 to the website;

2. After extracting, copy to your own software directory:

TAR-XJVF sublime\ text\ 2.0.2.tar.bz2

sudo mv sublime\ text\ 2/usr/local/lib/

3. Create a symbolic link so that the command appears in the path (the program name can be set by itself here is sublime):

sudo ln-s/usr/local/lib/sublime\ text\ 2/sublime_text/usr/bin/sublime

4. Next create a desktop item so that sublime can be placed on the desktop icon:

Under/usr/share/applications/path, create the file Sublime.txt and enter the following:

[Desktop Entry]
Name=SublimeText 2
GenericName=Text Editor
Exec=sublime

Terminal=false
Icon=/usr/local/lib/Sublime Text 2/Icon/48x48/sublime_text.png
Type=Application
Categories=TextEditor;IDE;Development
X-Ayatana-Desktop-Shortcuts=NewWindow

[NewWindow Shortcut Group]
Name=New Window
Exec=sublime -n
TargetEnvironment=Unity

5. Do not forget that the file should have Execute permissions:

sudo chmod 777/usr/share/applications/sublime.desktop

6. You can then Copy the icon to Desktop.
