Ubuntu uses the Oracle Debian repository to install the Oracle server

First, add the source to your software source file and enter the following command:

Sudo deb http://oss.oracle.com/debian unstable main non-free
Next, add the key:

Sudo wget http://oss.oracle.com/el4/RPM-GPG-KEY-oracle-O-| sudo apt-key add-
Update Source:

Sudo apt-get update
Install XE database server:

Sudo apt-get install oracle-xe-universal
You also need to install the XE client:

Sudo apt-get install oracle-xe-client
