Ubuntu10.04 configuration TTY (resolution and Chinese display)

First, open the frame Buffer

Edit file:

$ sudo gedit/etc/initramfs-tools/modules

Add three lines of content to the file:

Fbcon

VESAFB

VGA16FB

Run after:sudo update-initramfs-u

Two. Adjust the TTY resolution

Edit File

$ sudo gedit/etc/default/grub

Join a line:

grub_gfxpayload_linux=1280x1024(set to the resolution supported by your video card)

Update Grub

$ sudo update-grub

Three. Configure TTY Chinese display

Install a console Zhcon that supports Chinese

$ sudo apt-get install Zhcon

Start Zhcon

$ Zhcon--utf8--DRV=FB
