(Because I like Ubuntu, I have installed one Ubuntu 11.04 system on my office desktop and notebook. I have been thinking about it for two months to keep my office intact, however, the Cisco ASDM client is difficult for me. I used to install Windows 7 as a virtual machine in Ubuntu. Now, everything is done ..... share now! Haha)

Running requirements: Install the latest version of wine and run well (as long as the version is later than 1.2)

Step 1:

1. download the installation package, ASDM package name: asdm50-install.msi; Package acquisition method: Open the machine connected to the Intranet (any one) browser, enter: https: // 192.168.0.1 (if the ASA address is 192.168.0.1) follow the prompts to download the package (this was also available online, but it is hard to find it)

2. download the latest JAVA version of java and the prerequisite for running the ASDM package (many of my colleagues may be the same as me, but they are dumpfounded when installing JAVA, because the JAVA downloaded on the official website also needs to be updated online during installation, update always fails. If you have tried a friend, it may be terminated from here, but it doesn't matter !),

Http://www.java.com/zh_CN/download/manual.jsp from the official website? Locale = zh_CN learned that the JAVA installation package includes the jre-6u26-windows-i586.exe and jvm(java Virtual Machine cmd.exe (http://cc2.cc/java/msjavx86.zip)

Step 2:

Okay, the software is ready. Use wine to install it. Installation sequence: JVM ---> jre-6u26-windows-i586.exe ---> asdm50-install.msi

Note: you must add the execution permission to the three installation packages. To take care of beginners, follow these steps: right-click the installation package and choose "properties"> "Permissions"> "check after execution" to disable the installation. Otherwise, an error message is displayed, indicating that the installation has no permission .....)

Step 3:

After the installation is complete, there will be two more files on the desktop, one is Cisco ASDM Launcher. lnk and Cisco ASDM Launcher, add the execution permission to both files. For the first time, run Cisco ASDM Launcher. lnk: after the first wine configuration, will the long-overdue interface appear again !!

Ubuntu 11.04-I 686 is tested successfully! I have never tried 64-bit data. Try it.
