Canonical is preparing for the release of Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (codenamed Trusty Tahr). The final release date of Canonical is April 17.
Ubuntu 14.04, as a long-term supported version, brings a lot of new features. One important change is the display of menus. In the past, menus were displayed on the top bar by default, providing multiple options. In Ubuntu 14.04, the menu display mode is completely changed and is no longer displayed on the top of the screen in the form of a horizontal bar.
Ubuntu 14.04 displays various menus in the form of "Local Integration". The menus are displayed on the right of the window only when needed. They are not displayed by default, unless you hover your cursor over it. :
Another interesting change is that the windows in Ubuntu 14.04 adopt a new design, such as reverse corners and no borders. You may not have noticed before that Ubuntu windows all have a one-pixel border (the same is true for other systems), while Ubuntu 14.04 gave up this design so that windows can be directly integrated into the surrounding environment.
The window adopts a reverse corner and no border
Ubuntu 14.04 also modified the screen lock interface. The new screen lock interface looks like a logon menu.
Ubuntu 14.04 brings far more than the above changes. Wait and see the official release on the 17th.
