Ubuntu14.04 installation and " activation "office2010proplus and Visio2010 (15.11.20Updated)

1. Install Office Professional Plus

After a few searches and experiments, Office2013 can not be installed at the moment, only to use Office2010 first.

First prepare the Office2010 Local installation image or CD. Then install the "playonlinux" tool software to the following URLs, for example:

This tool software will voluntarily download wine and configure the virtual disk (its own wine installation Office2010 will usually fail.) Because there are very many dependent libraries that need to be downloaded and configured).

After installation, execute Playonlinux and have a graphical interface. Select Install a new program--Office->microsoft Office 2010.

Follow the wizard steps:

After inserting the disc or mounting the Office2010 installation image, select Office 2010 Setup Setup.exe

After that, you can do it next. This is the case when the installation is complete.

Shortcuts to Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote, and Outlook are also created on the desktop.

2. Installing Visio 2010

Playonlinux does not provide the installation process of Visio, but I go through the toss Visio2010 or installed. At first it was easy to think of installing Visio using the Office2010 installation process, but that would not succeed. It also destroys the Officeproplus already installed. In fact, it is possible to install Visio directly with a new virtual disk.

Choose Install, program not in list, install program in new virtual disk, and then follow the wizard to go. After installation, you need to manually select the shortcuts you need to create, select "VISIO.exe". Then the Playonlinux interface becomes this:

3. "Activate" Office 2010

OFFICE2010 expires after a period of time (180 days), and it is annoying to open a dialog box that needs to be activated every time. This time we need to "activate" again, and after a toss, the solution is to reset office, so it's not really active.

First download an activation tool "Heu_kms_activator_v7.8.8.exe" (Baidu is not difficult to find). Open Playonlinux. Select Office 2010, click Install, click Programs that are not in the list, edit or update existing programs, tick show virtual disks. The next step, select the executable file when the "Heu_kms_activator_v7.8.8.exe", the Activation Tool interface appears. On the Advanced tab, select Rearm Office. Assuming that you do not succeed more than once, you will successfully reset Office 2010.

4. Problems that exist

The above software after more than half a year of use no big problem. Just word 2010, Visio2010 in the exit will crash, this does not affect the use, but looked very annoying, there is no way to find a solution. In addition, I tried to install the MathType plug-in, but it will cause office crashes, so the Microsoft Formula Editor 3.0 first.

5. Update (2015.11.20)

The problem that has always been annoying word, Visio crashes when exiting, has a workaround:

1) Install wine1.7.55 (by Playonlinux or by Winehq installation method)
2) Open Playonlinux. Select Word-> to configure the->wine version number and select 1.7.55. Suppose the system is installed on the WINEHQ official website. Use the same action for Visio.

Open Word 2010 and Visio 2010 again, and the crash message no longer appears when you exit.

In addition, 1.7.55 has improved support for Office 2013, based on wine's documentation.

I have tried to install the Office 2013 Simplified Chinese version, and I am sure it can be installed and executed. However, there are problems with the tab text not appearing, documents not being saved, and so on. It is expected that the new version number of wine will fix these problems.
