1. Installing MATLAB
Assume that you have already downloaded the MATLAB2013A installation package in advance, probably more than 5G.
1. Switch to the directory where the installation files are located:cd/home/fische
2. New Mount folder:mkdir matlab
3. Mount the image file to the Matlab folder:sudo mount–o loop matlab2013a.iso matlab
4. Switch to the MATLAB directory:cd matlab
5. Perform the installation: sudo./install
6. Select the non-networked installation.
7. Enter the secret key:

8. Default selection of Typical installation, master can be customized
9. Have a cup of tea and wait for the installation to complete. The activation program is typically run automatically.
Select the image file to mount the Licence.lic file under directory matlab/series, complete the activation
If the activation program does not run automatically, switch to the MATLAB2013A installation directory:cd/usr/local/matlab/r2013a/bin
Run matlab sudo under this directory ./matlab
Then enter the activation program, the following steps above, not repeat. 2. Add Matlab icon
After installing MATLAB2013A, it is found that the terminal uses MATLAB prompt: Command not found. This is the icon and support that requires the installation of MATLAB.
Open the Software center that comes with Ubuntu and search for MATLAB. MATLAB will appear, click Install.
A MATLAB Interface Configuration window will pop up. Prompt to enter MATLAB install location
Fill in the installation directory of MATLAB in the input field/usr/local/matlab/r2013a
You will then be prompted to enter authorized user for MATLAB
Do not fill here, direct next.
After the installation is completed, there will be a Matlab icon in the left-hand launcher, and the terminal input MATLAB can also start Matlab.
PS: On several computers have been installed MATLAB, sometimes through the Software center installed MATLAB icon will appear in the Software Center is unresponsive, the installation is unsuccessful. It is recommended that you install the new software Manager sudo apt-get install synaptic, and then install it via the new software manager.
