Ubuntu6.10 achieves 3D Effects

1. Edit the/etc/apt/sources. list file and add any of the following sources: debhttp: // sources 1. Edit the/etc/apt/sources. list file and add any of the following sources.

2. Add the GPG Key and select either of the following commands for execution.

Wget http://www.beerorkid.com/compiz/quinn.key.asc-O-| sudo apt-key add-
Wget http://media.blutkind.org/xgl/quinn.key.asc-O-| sudo apt-key add-
Wget http://compiz-mirror.lupine.me.uk/quinn.key.asc-O-| sudo apt-key add-
Wget http://ubuntu.compiz.net/quinn.key.asc-O-| sudo apt-key add-

3. Execute the following command to update the System

Sudo apt-get update
Sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

4. Install the beryl package

Sudo apt-get install beryl-core beryl-plugins-data emerald beryl-settings beryl-manager beryl-dev emerald-themes

5. Configure beryl to enable it.

Note: I don't want 3D effects to start with X, which affects my work efficiency, so I didn't edit/etc/X11/xorg. conf. Run the beryl-manager Command to run the 3D effect.
