Sometimes I just want to browse the page and think it is too big to use the "GNOME eye. At this time, GPicView will be used.

GPicView. It is a simple image Viewer based on gtk +. It is similar to xp's image Fax display, but its function is still relatively weak. You can only view one gif file.

I like the speed of this browser, which is similar to xp's image Fax display. This is what I have been searching. Of course, the embedded image browser of EVL (starting from pro3) is very fast, and GPicView has no advantage in this aspect. Of course, if you need a simple browser, you can continue to look down. Next I will talk about how to set GPicView to the default image browser of Ubuntu 7.10 and solve problems found during use.

1. Set GPicView as the default browser.

Step 1: download and install GPicView.

Step 2: If the program is not automatically added to the menu. You can use the menu editor to add programs.

Step 3: Control Center-KDE component-file association. In search mode, enter the image format suffix you want to open with GPicView, such as jpg. On the right side of the program priority-add, you can select the program to be added, if the menu cannot find, you can directly enter the command to start the program, generally the program name. You can enter GPicView here. Then adjust the program priority, and then click the application.

Step 4: Open konqueror (the File Manager), set-configure konqueror-Web behavior-Cancel automatic image loading-application. In this way, when you click an image, the embedded image browser in the file manager will not be called.

The above method can also be used to set a PDF file to be opened by an independent program instead of in konqueror.

2. How to Make GPicView browse images in sequence.

When using GPicView, I found that the browsing order is inconsistent with the order of the photos, which is inconvenient to use.

Solution:

Create a folder and copy the photo. In the new folder, you can use GPicView to browse the photos in order.

Its interface is very similar to the first two. In addition to browsing images, it can also flip, scale, and save as other formats. Isn't that just right?

GPicView released the latest Bugfix version -- 0.1.7 on GnomeFiles. Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy users can directly download its deb package for installation:

Below is the software interface, which is very concise and familiar? Previous, next, zoom in, zoom out, full screen, flip, open, save ...... There is no additional button.

At the same time, it also provides a variety of right-click operations, of course, keyboard shortcut operations are indispensable!

If you like it, you can't download it for trial now!
