After Ubuntu7.10 is installed, the startup speed becomes abnormally slow. After multiple parties find it, the FileSystemCheck (Fsck) solution is as follows: 1. enter sudogedit/etc/fstab2. in Terminal and find the following text: #/dev/sda1UUID = 6E50BE5450BE22AF/media/sda1ntfsdefaults, umask = 007, gid
After the new Ubuntu 7.10 is installed, the startup speed becomes abnormal and slow. After multiple parties find it, it is a File System Check (Fsck) problem.
The solution is as follows:
1. Enter sudo gedit/etc/fstab in Terminal.
2. Find the following text:
#/Dev/sda1
UUID = 6E50BE5450BE22AF/media/sda1 ntfs defaults, umask = 007, gid = 46 0 1
3. Change the last 1 to 0.
The result is as follows:
#/Dev/sda1
UUID = 6E50BE5450BE22AF/media/sda1 ntfs defaults, umask = 007, gid = 46 0 0
4. Find all the Windows disk systems, such as NTFS, Vfat, and FAT32, and change the final number to 0.
5. Restart the disk.
6. In fact, the problem is that FSCK checks all disk partitions by default, and as a dedicated Unix/Linux disk tool, it will detect Windows partitions and cause errors, thus slowing down the startup.
Modify the Grub settings as follows:
1. Enter sudo gedit/boot/grub/menu. lst in Terminal.
2. Find the following line:
Kernel/boot /...
3. Change splash to nosplash. The result is as follows:
Kernel/boot /...
4. Save the disk and exit.
