Ubuntu is really a very troublesome system. It cannot be shut down normally today. After you press it to shut down/restart it will die in the graphic interface, and there will be a bunch of prompts on the command line interface: .... Network Manager: nm_hal_deinit (): libhal shutdown failed-Connection is closed. I searched the internet for a solution. The solution is as follows:
Enter sudo gedit/etc/modules on the terminal and add: apm power_off = 1 at the end of the file.
Enter sudo gedit/boot/grub/menu on the terminal. lst, find the "title Ubuntu 8.04, kernel 2.6.24-17-generic" in the file, in the following "kernel/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.24-17-generic .... "APPEND apm = power_off
Restart and restart.
Some posts say that acpi = force will be added to the second step above, but it will not start after I add it.
