2. Create a new site. Select your computer name for Internet Information Services management, right-click-〉 new-〉web site



The Web site Creation Wizard will open, the first step is to enter a description of the Web site, any one can, here we named Useultradev, and then click Next:

This step is to specify the IP address and port for your Web site, using its default value, so that when we want to browse the page we created, the address is http://localhost/xxx.asp ... and if you already have a site that takes up 80 of the TCP port, you can switch to another , such as 9999, the access address becomes http://localhost:9999/xxx.asp. Host head without filling, with DNS settings, you can create their own virtual host, this is a digression:)



Next, select the directory where your Web site is located, which is where you will save the pages you create later. Click Browse to select the folder where you want to save the page. As pictured. Allow anonymous access to allow anyone to access your site, or the password, in order to debug the convenience of the program, at the same time there is no privacy to be confidential, we hook this option.


The next step is to ask what access you want to this web site. Read is a must, otherwise your HTML files and other non-ASP files can not see, because the ASP is run by the server side, for security reasons, this reading option should not be selected, here is not to consider these, directly selected up. Running the script is also required, otherwise our web application will not be applied to *_ ' others are not chosen by default. Then click Next, our site to create a complete!



After the site has been created, there is another place to explain. Generally we browse the page, only need to enter the URL of the site can open the homepage of the site, such as Http://www.163.net, as for the first page of the file name, this is what we are going to talk about. Right-click the Web site you just created, look at the properties, select the Document column, and we can see an option: Enable the default document. The mystery is right here. When you have a file named Default.htm or Default.asp in your Web site directory, Internet Information manager will think of it as the default document so that we can use http://localhost to open our home page directly. Other catalogs are the same, such as http://localhost/bbs/, which actually means http://localhost/bbs/default.htm or http://localhost/bbs/default.asp. For Windows systems, capitalization is not distinguishable, so the file name is Default.htm and DEFAULT. HTM is no different, unlike the UNIX operating system, but it is best to name the use of a unified style, do not have the case of the same phenomenon, such as Default.htm.
