Under Windows XP, if you create a new and enabled account with administrator privileges, the system will not have a password-protected administrator each time you log on to the computer by default. What happens when we have to log in with the administrator account? Let's get it back.
method to set a password for the Administrator account
First log in as an existing computer administrator's account;
Click the "Start" button at the bottom left of the screen and select "Run" command:
In the Run dialog box that pops up, enter the "lusrmgr.msc" command:
Click the OK button to open the local user names and Groups window:
Select "User" on the left, then right click on the "Administrator" account on the right, select the "Set Password" command in the pop-up menu, as shown above;
The "Set Password for Administrator" dialog box is displayed, and you can click the Continue button to:
Pop the "Set Password for Administrator" dialog box, repeat the same password two times and click the OK button below:
Password is entered the same, the change is successful will pop up "password has been set." "The cue box, as pictured above;
Click OK in the Prompt box to log off or restart the computer.
Method Two shows the administrator on the landing interface
Click the "Start" button at the bottom left of the screen and select "Run" command:
In the Run dialog box that pops up, enter the "regedit" command:
After opening the registry, navigate to the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows Ntcurrentversionwinlogonspecialaccountsuserlist:
In the right spot, click the right mouse button, select "New" In the pop-up menu, and select "DWORD Value":
Change the new DOWRD value name to Administrator:
Double-click the Administrator key value, and in the Edit Dowrd Value dialog box that pops up, change the value of numeric data to "1":
Finally click OK and quit the registry to restart the computer.
