Unable to start the solution after modifying MySQL database encoding under Linux

The old version of MySQL in Linux modifies the database encoding method is

Modify MY.CNF
Vi/etc/my.cnf
in [Client] under Add
DEFAULT-CHARACTER-SET=UTF8
Under [mysqld] add
Default-character-set=utf8
