Linuxaid.com.cn site latest information: the United Nations recently announced that it will hold the first software free day through its International Open Source Network (IOSN, to help Asian users understand and use Free and Open Source Software: FOSS and related technologies.
According to reports, IOSN will be held in Bangladesh, Bahrain, India, Malaysia, non-high rates, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and New Zealand in danzhou. Information materials and CDs will be distributed during the activity.
IOSN said through its own site: Given that developing countries tend to suffer rapid development of information and communication technologies due to cost problems, FOSS gives these countries a good opportunity. In fact, in addition to the Linux operating system, a large number of mature FOSS products have been put into use, including the OpenOffice suite, Mozilla browser, MySQL database, and Apache Page Server.
Through activities in various countries, IOSN will also introduce the technical characteristics, advantages, and development history of FOSS to the public and discuss localization and other issues.
