Installing PHP 5.2.x or 5.3.x on Redhat es5, centos 5, etc

To install PHP 5.2.5 (highest in repository at this time) You can make use of a RPM repository maintained by Remi.
(1) download
Wget http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/epel/5/i386/epel-release-5-4. Noarch. rpm
Wget http://rpms.famillecollet.com/enterprise/remi-release-5.rpm
(2) server guard
Rpm-uvh remi-release-5 *. RPM epel-release-5 *. rpm
PS.You now haveRemi RepositoryOn your system
(3) Upgrade PHP to 5.3.5
Yum -- enablerepo = Remi update PHP
You shoshould now have the latest PhP5 installed.
Also, if have a trouble while installing, you can try to execute folloing:
Yum install MySQL -- enablerepo = Remi
Yum update PHP -- enablerepo = Remi

In addition, you only need to run
Yum Remove PHP *
Then run:
Yum install php53 *
You can install it directly.
