IOS on the Cisco website is not accessible to anyone. Only Cisco agents and CCIE can be downloaded. Therefore, you can obtain the latest IOS from the seller wherever you buy a router. It seems that you can also find it online.
After obtaining the IOS file, copy the new iOS file to the Flash file of the router, and delete the old IOS file. Restart (reload) even if the upgrade is successful. Specific steps:
1. Create a TFTP server
You can select 3com tftp server 3cdaemon.
2. Copy the new iOS to the vro:
Copy TFTP: Flash:
Copy the files on the TFTP server to flash and perform operations as prompted.
3. Back up iOS:
Copy FLASH: file name TFTP:
Copy files from flash to TFTP
4. Delete the old IOS
Delete FLASH: File Name
5. Restart the vro:
Reload
(Log on to the vrotelnet via Telnet and use the preceding command to transfer files .)
In addition, SDM update is similar to iOS update. You only need to replace the following files on the router flash with the latest version (take Cisco 2811 as an example ):
128mb. SDF
Common.tar
Es.tar
Home.shtml
Home.tar
Sdm.tar
Sdm25
Sdmconfig-2811.cfg
