Upgrading to ESX 4.0 U1 on HP systems can cause a host to panic

According to the message from VMware:

upgrading VMware ESX 4.0 to 4.0U1 on HP ProLiant servers can cause upgrades to fail and cause host crashes during reboot (Purple screen!). ）。

This is a serious compatibility issue. Mainly with the HP Insight Managements agent conflict caused.

The solution to avoid this problem is to stop the HP Insight Management Agents before you upgrade. This agent can be enabled manually after the upgrade.

The way to stop HP Insight Management agents is to enter at the command line:

Service HPSMHD Stop

Service Hp-snmp-agents Stop

Service Hp-health Stop

If you have not stopped this agents and have started to upgrade, please do not reboot the host, and immediately call VMware, open a support event, VMware Technicians will guide you to solve this problem.
