USB Disk System disk making and system installation (detailed illustration) 0. Description
Note: This method is the traditional Legacy BIOS motherboard installation method, in this case, the disk partition table format is MBR (the maximum support 2tb,4 primary partition or 3 primary partition an extended partition), does not support GPT (maximum support for 18eb,128 partitions); Because the size of the hard disk now is more and more , and more and more PC vendors are producing motherboards that support UEFI, and a UEFI installation system is recommended, both Windows 8 and Ubuntu14.04 are supported for UEFI installations.
The difference between BIOS and UEFI can be found here, the UEFI installation system is simple (and performance is better than the BIOS, and will gradually replace the BIOS), the following steps are outlined below:
install the system in UEFI mode: Ensure that the disk partition table is in GPT format and assigned EFI (or ESP, approx. 100m-300m) partition, unzip the downloaded system image directly to the root of the USB stick, reboot and select USB drive boot (UEFI), select the boot of each operating system as theEFIYou can search by yourself for detailed steps. Such as:Watermelon June teaches you to install single hard drive Win8.1+ubuntu dual system "UEFI chapter"Note: For newer motherboard, if contains USB3.0, then use USB stick system, UEFI installation Windows7, need to add USB3.0 driver to the system, you can refer to: UEFI+GPT+USB3.0+SSD installation Win7 (X64)

Here's how to install the traditional Legacy BIOS motherboard!
Using this method, you can make Windows, Linux system disk, do a good U disk system disk, can be used as a normal u disk, can be almost all PC (PC) (regardless of PC system) installation system. Because Windows systems are extremely easy to install, this is just an example of Linux installation.
The Linux system image used in this article is: Ubuntu-14.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso, free open source, and a more popular system.
If you want to install a dual system, then it involves,Dual System Coexistence, and the question of who leads who. Generally let Windows boot Linux, so when you do not want to use Linux, the Linux partition directly formatted, and delete the boot boot menu, otherwise, when you delete Linux, Windows will not boot, There are other ways to add a boot boot menu to Windows, please.
This article explains how to install Linux under conditions that already have Windows installed and let Windows boot Linux.

1. Tools and Materials

a) Hardware: U disk (Capacity > System image size), PC.

b) Software: UltraISO, EASYBCD, System image file (this article takes ISO image as an example).

Note: The above UltraISO link is the official website link, need to pay, click here Free download, or Baidu. EASYBCD has a free version.

You can also use UltraISO to make your own system image, please search by yourself for details.

2. Preparatory work

A) Backup the important data on the USB flash drive, the system disk making process will format the U disk.

b) Please back up the disk partition on which the system will be installed {Windows is generally C drive, and of course it can be a different disk; For Linux it only requires a portion of free disk space under Windows (more than 20GB is recommended); If the computer does not have any system, do not need to prepare}. c) If you are installing a Windows system, please check the network card model and download the network card driver, or download "Network Card version Driver Wizard" or "Network card version Drive Life".

d) Install UltraISO, EASYBCD.

3. Make USB drive system disk
Note: To make a Linux system disk, for example, make a Windows process, just select the Windows ISO image when you open the file.
Open the UltraISO and press the action shown in Figure 3.1

Then press figure 3.2 to open the authoring page (shown in Figure 3.3)

4.2 Installing Ubuntu 14.04Please follow the figure below, because I have installed Windows, so the interface may be different from you.
Press Figure 4.1 To select the installation language, then click "Install Ubuntu"

This step is important because Windows is co-existing with Linux and lets Windows boot Linux, so selectOther Options"In addition, this figure may not be the same as what you actually see, because my PC has already installed Windows 8 and Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS in advance. To summarize, select the "Other Options"Unless you just want Linux, don't use Windows, or install Linux first, and then Windows. Select other options disk data may be lost, please be cautious.

Because I have installed Windows and Linux, so the previous step after the image below the figure 4.5, you may be as shown in Figure 4.6. In order to introduce the operation and method for the Linux partition, delete the existing Linux system, delete 3 EXT4 partition (SDA8-SDA10) and a swap partition (SDA11), and get the 31949MB free disk space in Figure 4.6. Note that "Dev" is the first 3 letters of the device, and SDA represents disk A,linux with a A, B, ... to mark the disk, and the number X after SDA represents the X-partition of disk A.

Create partitions:/boot,/swap,/,/home, plus, you can create/usr and so on, but feel unnecessary, so this article is not created.

Create/ Boot"Partition, size 200MB. Click on the left "+" in the image above, create a new partition, pop up the dialog box, set the size by the following image: 200MB, for EXT4 (i.e. file system), mount point select "/boot". Sure you can

Create Swap space (Swap), size = physical memory, I physical memory 4GB, it is 4096MB. Used to select Swap space

Create a "/" partition, that is, the root partition, size: its own definition, generally greater than 10GB. For "Ext4", Mount point "/"

Create the "/home" partition, which is equivalent to the "document" of Windows, Size: Any, I give it all the rest.

After the partition is created, as shown in Figure 4.11 below, 3 EXT4 partitions (sda8, SDA10, SDA11) and one Swap partition (SDA9) are new.

Select "Boot device to install launcher" as "/boot", this step is very important, do not choose the wrong.

5. Add a boot boot menu for Ubuntu 14.04If you don't see Ubuntu in the boot menu option after reboot, you need to add it manually. After rebooting into Windows, run "EASYBCD" and follow the figure 5.1-5.3.

enjoy it.
7. When a single file is larger than 4G, the problem and resolution

Because the maximum single file size supported by the FAT32 format is 2^32byte =4GB, a single file larger than 4GB cannot be transferred to the FAT32 format of the disk, including the USB flash drive (you may already have this problem), when your system image is larger than 4GB, It is possible to have a single file larger than 4GB (such as the Install.wim file under the source folder in a Win8.1 image file up to 4.06GB).
You may think that the format of the USB drive into the NTFS format of the file system, yes, but there is also a problem is that using UltraISO or other Startup disk production tools (such as: Rubik's disk Launcher tool) to make a U disk Startup disk, will automatically format the U disk into FAT32, and no format options, Therefore, the above method can not be used to produce.
