Use a USB wireless Nic to access the Internet in ubuntu8.04 Virtual Machine

I use XP, and ubuntu8.4 is virtual with vmware6.5. I first plug in the wireless network card and add the wireless network card to Ubuntu. Then I found that I could find wireless networks in Ubuntu, fill in the password, and connect to it, but I cannot access the Internet. After searching for half a day, I did not find any reason. Later I removed all the network adapter (NAT) and bridged virtual NICs set by the virtual machine, and then I went on.
I used to use a local connection of XP to share the Internet with a wired network adapter. I used a network adapter (NAT) virtual network adapter in Ubuntu to share the local connection of XP to access the Internet, it seems that these cards cannot be used at the same time.
