Currently, printers have been configured in various offices. To save resources, the printer must have been shared by the network administrator. How should we use it? I usually use Ubuntu 12.04, and occasionally want to print something and do not want to switch to the XP system. This briefly introduces how to use this shared printer in Ubuntu and Windows systems, of course, the premise is that the host and printer connecting to this shared printer have to be turned on, and you are in the same LAN and in the same working group.
Environment: the host connected to the printer in my office is Windows XP, and its IP address is 172.20.4.114. No access password is set for the printer.
1. How to connect to a shared printer in Windows XP:
Click the Start menu to open the "run" dialog box (or press the shortcut key win + r) and enter "\ 172.20.4.114" (which does not include double quotation marks and the specific IP address is different ), you can check what you want to share with the host. The printer is shared here, as shown in Figure 1.1. I can print it. I haven't practiced it in win7, but I guess I can.

3. Click "find Network Printer" and fill in the "host" on the right with the IP address of the shared printer host (my name is 172.20.4.114, which is different, as shown in Figure 2.3 ).

4. If no problem occurs, the shared printer will be found, as shown in Figure 2.4 (Samba may not be found ).

5. click "Forward". The next interface is to select the corresponding driver. If you know what the printer is, select it directly. If you do not know it, select download online, as shown in Figure 2.5, my office is HP printer.

6. after the installation of the corresponding driver is selected, the figure 2.6 page is displayed, where "Duplexer installed" is clearly displayed. I checked it online and it means that dual-sided printing is supported, however, after I tried it, I could not print it on both sides. It may be that I have a problem with the settings. Please give me some guidance.
