Description
Acctinfo. DLL is a dynamic link library file. After registering this dynamic link library file, the administrator can view User attributes through the "Active Directory users and computers" console, add an "Additional account info" tab. This Tab allows the Administrator to view some advanced information in Active Directory, such as the last time the user modified the password and the last time the user account was logged on. Use the "Additional account info" tab to view information, mainly for the following two reasons.
- In some cases, some information is not explicitly stored in Active Directory, but is calculated as needed. For example, the password expiration date of a user account is not in Active Directory, but in Active Directory, the date on which the user recently changed the password and the maximum password validity period are stored. To determine the specific expiration date of a user account and password, the script may be used to obtain the information and calculate the final result. Acctinfo. dll can automatically calculate the data and display the result directly.
- In some cases, some information is not stored in Active Directory, but stored locally. For example, The Last Logon Time and last logout time of a user account are stored locally by each domain controller and are not copied to other domain controllers in the domain. Acctinfo. dll can help the Administrator check the specific time of last user logon and logout on a domain controller. If you have multiple domain controllers in the domain, the Administrator may need to install acctinfo. dll on each domain controller to check the logon and logout times of a user account on each domain controller.
In addition, you can use acctinfo. DLL to easily modify the user account password, lock or unlock the user account.
