Use ADSL for Remote Computer Control (1)

My friend recently asked me this question: one of his two computers is using ADSL to access the Internet, and another notebook is working on mobile phones. He wants to enable remote access to his home computer and perform operations on his laptop. After three days and three nights of close-eye efforts, I finally helped my friends realize this dream! The implementation scheme is provided for reference. Here, we call a friend's home computer the controlled computer, and his notebook the master computer. These steps are generally used to achieve Remote Management: Remote Boot, ADSL automatic dialing, automatic start of a remote management program, Remote Desktop Management, and automatic/remote shutdown.

The master configuration steps include hardware configuration, automatic dialing, and remote control software Server installation)

1. Enable the hardware Wakeup function.

The controlled end must have the Remote Wake-up function to enable remote boot) hardware support. Specifically, a nic and motherboard that supports the Remote Wake-up function, and an ATX power supply must be used for the host. For information about whether the nic and motherboard support this function, you can refer to the product manual and consult the merchant. The so-called ATX power supply is simply described as follows: all operations that use "start"-"shutdown" can shut down the computer normally without pressing the power key, they all use the ATX power.

Step 1: Start the system and enter the BIOS. Select power management at the REDLINE. Different BIOS versions may be in different positions, 1.

Step 2: Move the Red Square Bar to "resume by Ring/LAN". Some versions are Wake Up On LAN/Ring. Press the "Page Up" key and select "enabled" to enable it, 2. Save the settings.

2. Set automatic dialing for ADSL.

This can be achieved in two ways. One is to set a scheduled task in the system, and the other is to enable the automatic dialing function of the adsl modem.

One way: Set a scheduled task to enable the controlled end to run the task upon startup, so as to enable automatic dial-up access.

Step 1: The accused has been using ADSL dial-up to access the Internet, so this dial-up program should have existed for a long time. Go to "Control Panel"-"scheduled task", double-click the scheduled task to open the wizard, and click Next. In the window shown in figure 3, click "Browse" to locate "C: \ Windows \ System32 \ RasPHone.exe ".

Step 2: In the displayed window, select "when the computer starts" to continue the next step. The task name can be used. In step 4, enter the username and password for logging on to XP.

Step 3: In the next window, you must select "Open the Advanced properties of this task when you click Finish ". After you click Finish, follow the settings shown in Figure 5 in the following window and deselect all the checked items under the settings tab.

After you click "application", the system prompts you to enter the logon user name and password again. After you enter the user name and password, press OK. After such configuration, the controlled end runs the scheduled task as long as it is on, thus enabling automatic dialing.

The second method is actually more convenient, but it is limited to space and there are different configurations for different adsl modem, So I skipped it here. There are also many reports on this aspect on the Internet. You can refer to it.
