Use an ISO file to create a USB flash drive

Today, I helped a friend install a computer without a CD, only ISO files, and planned to launch a USB flash drive.

1. Insert a USB flash drive and find the USB flash drive device file:

#DFFilesystem 1 K-Blocks used available use %Mounted on ....../Dev/sdb12061348152085654049274%/Media/pendrive

2. Transfer the ISO file to the USB flash drive:

#Dd If=/MISC/ylmf_ghostxp_sp3_yn11.8_cd.iso of =/dev/SDB1424400+0RecordsIn1424400+0Records out729292800Bytes (729MB) Copied,106.401S,6.9MB/s

Note: what is needed here is the device file (/dev/sdb) corresponding to the USB flash drive, rather than the partition file (/dev/sdb1 ).

3. OK. Try it now.
