Use Debian's note-the Linux Release Technology-Debian information. For more information, see the following. In various Linux releases, Debian is my preference. Due to work needs, Debian is one of the two desktop systems I use at the same time.
The company has provided NIS and NFS services. At the same time, I need to occasionally connect to the Windows domain. Here are some of my experiences on this:
NIS
To use NIS, see Debian nis howto. Note the Configuration Requirements of/etc/nsswitch. conf,/etc/passwd and/etc/groups.
NFS
If NFS has problems with the interpretation of "_" and ".", try to use "UNDERSCORETODOT = 1" in/etc/default/autofs ". For details, see Debian Bug #301358.
If there is a problem with the startup sequence of NIS and autofs, use the following sequence. For details, refer to another Bug #315615:
Samba and Windows
In the GNOME desktop environment, we only need to install the libgnomevfs2-extra to access the Windows machine, which is GNOME virtual file-system (extra modules ), in this way, we can see the Samba service and Windows domain in Nautilus.
