Use ArcGis to convert continuous point coordinates into a buffer zone

Tutorial objectives:Generate a 1 km-width shp file from the given coordinate file.

1. Sort the data format and generate a CSV file containing only three columns of data according to the name/longbench/latitude format.

2. Open ArcScene to import CSV data. The procedure is as follows:

File Add Data Add XY Data Folder icon Connect To Folder CSV directory CSV File Edit Geographic Coordinate System World WGS 184 OK

3. Generate the dot shp file from the imported CSV file. The procedure is as follows:

Right-click the CSV layer and choose "Data Export Data Browse"> "output document path ".

4. From the Point layer to the line layer. The procedure is as follows:

ArcToolbox Data Management Tools Features Points to Line Input Features select the midpoint layer (both CSV and shp) in the Input box of Output Feature Class select the file storage path and name OK

5. The line layer generates a buffer. The procedure is as follows:

In the ArcToolbox Analysis Tools Proximity Buffer Input Features Input box, select the midline layer. In the Output Feature Class Input box, select the file storage path and name Linear unit. Enter 0.5 in the Input box, select Kilometer Side Type from the drop-down menu. Select FULL End Type and select flat OK.
