Use EVEREST to test the xp and real xp in vbox-general Linux technology-Linux technology and application information. The following is a detailed description. Everest version: v4.20.1201 Beta/cn
Virtrualbox: 1.54
Ubuntu 7.1, kernel 2.6.23.12

All xp instances are updated to the latest patch.

In virtual box, the memory is allocated to xp 512 MB, and the memory is 16 Mb.

Hardware: T7500, 2 GB memory, Quadro NVS 140 m. Thinkpad T61

The memory reading is very strange. The real xp only requires 5611 MB/second, which is behind Athlon64 3200 +. It should be normal, but the virtual xp in vbox has: 83682 MB/second, not the same order of magnitude.

The same is true for writing, but the gap is slightly smaller: 3638 Mb/s, and 6200 MB/s for virtual machines.

Memory hiding is even more exaggerated. The actual memory is 81.7 ns, and the virtual machine is 2.7 ns.

On the cpu queen, the real ones have the upper hand, but this should be the reason that the virtual machine only virtualizes one CPU. Basically, xp is twice as real as virtual.

All cpu projects have a real advantage, because real xp uses dual-core, while virtual machines use single-core.

The disk read performance fully demonstrates that the virtual machine xp has a powerful cache mechanism.

In begin, the middle items are half smaller than the real xp items, and the subsequent projects are almost ten times larger. This also shows the linux cache function.

The performance of the disk on the notebook is a bottleneck. If you properly arrange the operation of the virtual machine, it should be able to achieve faster performance than the real xp.
