Use Lightroom to add ideas to your photo background

In addition to using solid colors and gradient fills, you can choose a photo as a slide background, and we can control the opacity of the background photos, so you can create a back-curtain effect. The only drawback to this feature is that the same background will appear on each slide (except, of course, subtitles slides). Therefore, you cannot change the background effect between different slides. Here, we'll introduce a simple photo background, then use it further, and finally introduce a few tips for creating very creative slide show layouts.

1th Step:

First make a little configuration, go to the template browser, click the caption and the star preset. Now let's simplify the layout, in the Options panel, uncheck the Draw border and drop the check box, then click the upper-left corner of the guide and drag the diagonal inward until the picture is small and close to the lower-right corner (as shown in the figure), and uncheck the Show guides check box in the layout panel after the adjustment is complete. Go to the overlay panel below, uncheck the superimposed text checkbox and star check box (so we don't see stars in the photo).

2nd Step:

Go to the background panel, check the background image checkbox and uncheck the gradient color checkbox so that the background will not have a gradient effect. Now go to the Film display pane and drag and drop the picture we want to use as a background image in the background image window of the background panel (as shown in the picture), which is now displayed as a background after the currently selected photo. If the background photo is displayed in 100% opacity, which usually means that it will conflict with the foreground photo, we usually turn the opacity of the background photo down a bit, making it lighter and more subtle to make the main photo appear more prominent.

3rd Step:

To create a back-curtain effect, reduce the opacity of the background image to 40% (this value can be adjusted flexibly depending on the photo), and the photo fades to gray. If you like the white curtain effect, you can set the background color to white, click the background color swatch, and then select White in the Color picker, as shown in the picture. Or, if you like the black back screen effect, you can also set the background color to black. Which color works best depends on the photos you choose.

4th Step:

Click the Preview button to see the slide play with the background image that we selected, as I mentioned in the introduction to this section, and the backgrounds that appear after each picture are the same.

5th step:

In addition to using our own photos as a background image, if you use a design image as the background, you will get a completely different effect. For example, the image shown in the picture is a background image that I purchased from Fotolia. When it's shown inside the Lightroom, I drag it to the target favorites and drag it to the background image in the background panel to create the effect shown in the diagram.
