After you log on to Windows XP without using the Welcome screen logon method. Press the "Ctrl+alt+del" key combination, the Windows Security window appears, click the "Change Password" button in the options, and the Change Password window appears (Figure 1). In this window, the current user's password is backed up, the "Backup" button is clicked in the lower-left corner to activate the "Forget Password Wizard" and follow the prompts to create a password reset disk.
If you enter an incorrect password in the Windows XP Login window, the login failed window pops up, and if you really can't remember what your password is, click the Reset button to start the Password Reset Wizard, reset your password, and login to Windows XP with the password reset disk you just created.
　
　
How to create a password reset disk
Prepare a blank, formatted floppy disk. To create a password reset disk for your local user account, you can use one of the following methods.
Using the computer administrator account
If you are logged on to the computer by using an administrator account, follow these steps to create a password reset disk for a user account:
Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
In Control Panel, click the user account.
In the User accounts pane, click the account that you want to use.
Under Related Tasks, click Block a forgotten password to start the Forgotten Password Wizard, and then click Next.
Insert a blank, formatted disk into drive A, and then click Next.
In the current User account password box, type the password for the user account that you selected in step 3rd, and then click Next.
Note: If this user account does not have a password, do not type your password in the current User account password box.
The Forgotten Password Wizard will begin creating a password reset disk.
When the progress bar reaches "100% complete," click Next, and then click Finish.
Remove the password reset disk and label it. Put the floppy disk in a safe place.
　
　
Benefits: Security, which is important for encrypting data with EFS.
Disadvantage: A floppy disk is required, and a password reset disk is required when setting the password, and there is no way for a machine without a floppy drive.
