1. Install virtualbox Software
Download the virtualbox software from www.virtualbox.org and install it on your computer. The system prompts you to stop the current network when installing the network. You don't have to worry about the next step.
2. Create a New centos 5.x VM
Start the Oracle VM virtualbox software and click "new" to create a VM.
In the select "virtual computer name and system type" dialog box, enter centos 5.5 directly, virtualbox will automatically set the system type to radhat Linux, and click "Next" to continue.
I prefer to set the memory size to 1024. This is purely my preference. You can also retain the default 512 MB and then click "Next ".
If you have a previously created virtual hard disk, you can select "use existing virtual hard disk ". Create a new virtual hard disk and click "Next ".
Select "dynamic expansion" for the virtual hard disk type, so that you do not need to allocate all the disk space when creating the virtual machine, saving time. Click "Next ".
Specify the location and space of the virtual disk, and click "Next ".
Click "finish" to create a VM. After the VM is created, a virtual machine in centos 5.5 state is displayed on the main interface.
3. Configure the Virtual Machine
Click "Settings" in the toolbar to complete the configuration. In the displayed dialog box, select system ".
Check "enable Io APIC". Do not select "hardware clock in UTC time" and enter the "Media" tab.
Click the button on the right of the "virtual Optical Drive" to enter the virtual Media Manager.
Click "register" and select the downloaded ISO file of centos 5. X to register the disk image file in virtualbox. Click "select ".
After this configuration is complete, click the start button on the toolbar to start the VM. For more information about how to install centos 5.x, see my other article.
