Use Word 2003 to help you easily read a document

Automatic scrolling screen Reading document Imagine that when you read a document, if Word can automatically roll the screen according to the speed at which each of us reads, you don't have to drag the mouse frequently. The implementation of the method is very simple, word comes with the automatic scrolling function of the screen, just put it in the toolbar, you need to click to achieve this function.

Right-click the toolbar and choose Customize. The Customize dialog box pops up, switches to the Commands tab, selects all commands in categories, and then finds and drags "AutoScroll" from the right side of the command to the toolbar (Figure 1).

With this feature, you can scroll down (or up) the screen by simply moving the mouse to the bottom (or top) of the screen.

Tip: The speed of the screen scrolling depends on the amount of mouse movement, the user adjusts to the appropriate scrolling speed can be released after the mouse, click anywhere to cancel the screen scrolling.

Second, the basic idea that speech reading is easier to implement is to use VBA code to call the text to Speech feature in Excel.

Type the ALT+F11 key in Word, open the Visual Basic Editor, and create a macro named Readrec with the following code:

Sub Readrec ()

Excel.Application.speech.speak Selection

End Sub

You must then establish an association between Word and Excel two programs. Click the Tools menu in the VBE Editor window, select the Reference command, select the Microsoft Excel 11.0 Object Library check box in the Pop-up Reference-normal dialog box (Figure 2), and then click OK when the setting is complete. Close the Visual Basic Editor to return to the Word window.

Finally drag and drop the macro you created into the toolbar. Right-click the toolbar and choose Customize. Switch to the Commands tab, select Macros in categories, drag Normal newmacros.readrec from the command to the toolbar and use (Figure 3), and make it a good idea to change the button's name "(such as reading document) and the default button image (right-click the button on the toolbar when the Customize dialog box is not closed), which makes it easier for us to use.

When you use it, select the text you want to read, and then click the "Read Document" button in the toolbar so that we can hear the voice reading.

Tip: If you do not have the text to Speech feature installed in Excel, you will be alerted to the installation during use. In addition, the text in Word to speech function is not very suitable for reading English documents, and the reading process can not be arbitrarily interrupted, which can not be said to be a regrettable thing, interested friends with Third-party software such as "Jinshan fast translation" to make up for this shortcoming.
