  Template Building Station

FrontPage can be tailored to the needs of different individuals and organizations to automatically create a network "nest"-site.

Operation Open the site to create a window: Click on "File/new/Site", in the open window you can see the various wizards and templates automatically set up the site.

Wizard Features: Select the conditional elements listed in the wizard to create a personalized site and Web page

Template features: Directly using the already designed conditional elements to create a kind of unified site and Web page

In FrontPage, wizards are typically created with more complex businesses and large sites that are not suitable for individuals to nest online. My online home to use a template to build a site is enough.

Action selection Template: In the new Site window, select the personal site template. Set the location of the site file in the options bar to the right. It is recommended to create a new meaningful storage address such as "C:\My House" and click "OK".

Action View site structure: Click on the program interface in the view window of the "Navigation" button, you can see the establishment of the site consists of which files and the structure of the site.

We see that the structure of the personal site template is three pages below the home page, they are "interests", "albums", "Favorite sites," and in the Folder List column are lists of files in the site, where the "image" folder is dedicated to pictures, plus five HTML files, including myfav3. HTML is an alternate child page file. The other four HTML files correspond to the home page and three subsites respectively.

Actions to view pages in a site: clicking on a page structure icon in the Navigation View window's site structure diagram, such as the "home" structure icon, opens the page, and we can see the pre-designed page structure in the window. Click the file in the folder list to open it.

Notice that when we open the page, we can see the Navigation view window switch to the Page view window.

Operation Save and open site: Saving the site is simple, when you close FrontPage, follow the prompts to save the site. In fact, saving a site is primarily about saving a Web page, so you should always keep in mind when you modify the editing page. The saved method is similar to saving a file in a text-editing program. Open the site to be more complex, select the menu "File/Open Site", find the directory where the site is located, find the site folder (is a small ball folder icon, is the site management document created by FrontPage) Chi  Pure Umbrella?br>

Action Delete site: Deleting a site is simple, deleting a site's folder directly in Windows. can also be deleted in the program.

Tips for further learning: use a variety of views and Windows, and use wizards to create complex business and project sites. Use the Import Wizard to import a site that someone else has already built into a site that you can use.

  Template Build Web page

At present, my net "nest" still has only one homepage, three sub pages, I want to add a "My Travel" sub page again.

Create a site using templates, there are several pages in the site are designed in advance, in most cases, you need to add pages, or with the new design of the page to replace the previously designed pages. Creating new Web pages, using wizards and templates, is most convenient, because FrontPage provides a rich Web page template that can be used to meet the needs of most situations.

Action opens the Page Template window: Click the "Page" button in the view window to switch to the Web page view. Select the menu "File/new/Web page" To open the template Selection window for the new page. Note that different view windows, using the "File/new/Web page" menu command, have different results, which we will mention later.

In the page template Selection window, there are three tabs, and in the General tab there are more than 30 templates to choose from, and Web pages in the "nest" of the general personal network use the templates on the General tab to be sufficient. Based on the content of my new Web page and the design I envisioned, I chose the "wide-line text with headers" template.

Action selection Template: Click on the "wide line text with headers" template item, and then click "OK", the program will start by template new page.

Back to the main window, you can see a general structure of the page, this page in a very clear way to show me where to put the title, where to put the text, the page paragraph structure is also lined up very well, I just follow the prompts to add content on it.

The new Web page has not been saved on the hard drive, because this page is to be added to the newly created Web site, so we will save it to the directory of the site file (C:\My House).

Action to save the newly created Web page file: Select "File/Save File", select "C:\My House" in the Pop-up Save File window, and name the file named "Mytravel.htm". Click "OK".

Action Preview page: Once you have created a Web page, you can view the page through a browser. In FrontPage, you can call the system-integrated IE browser directly to view it. You can open a page in the Page view window and choose File/preview page. When we edit the changes, most of them are through the FrontPage built-in Preview function to view the effect of the page, by selecting the "Preview" tab under the main window of the page view.

Action View File list: Click the File Tab button in the View window to list the site folders and files in the selected folder in the main window. In the file window, we see that the new page file that you just saved is already in it, and you can see some of the file's properties. When you double-click the files, you can open the edits in the Web Page view window.

The title of the page is the title text that appears in the upper-left corner of the browser window when browsing. This title allows visitors to understand the content of the page.

Action Modify the main title of the page: Open the File View window, locate the mytravel.htm file in the File List window, click "This is the main title" text, and then enter "My Travels". In addition, you can change the title of the home page file to "Doug's house." Note that the title of the home page is the title of the site.
