Objective
For enterprise users, have their own mail server, in staff management, internal information communication, external push message, etc., are of great benefit.
This article does not have the advanced technical content, only takes Windows Server 2008 as the example, uses the hMailServer, introduces constructs the mail server the entire process, for the reference.

1.1 Installing the Mail server component
Select the database where the data is stored, there are two options, one is to use the embedded database Microsoft SQL Compact, the other is to customize the database. The previous option, which is relatively lighter and simpler, is where I choose to customize the way.
Set up the administrative password for the Mail Service Administration tool, and later use the Password Login Administration tool to configure the server.
Because we chose the custom database option, during the installation process, we are prompted to enter the admin password and configure the database.
Select Next:
The two options in the previous illustration, if you have not installed hMailServer, or if you have installed a new database, select the first option, and if you use an existing hMailServer database, select the second option. Here I choose to create a new database.
The database type has three options, and I choose the first MSSQLServer.
Configure database connection information. You can select Database account authentication or Windows authentication. Next, choose SQL Server's service program, which is optional.
Continue, initialize database complete. You can view the results of a run.
Installation complete.
