Use Jigdo to download the Debian CD-Linux Release Technology-Debian information. See the following for details. Before using Debian, You need to download testing ISO from Debian Installer. Many people may want to download dozens of ISO headers. In fact, you can download only the first ISO file, which contains popular and commonly used software packages, xwindows, and the complete Gnome Desktop. However, even if you download the first ISO file, if you do not use it immediately, the new ISO has been created and you want to download it again.

In fact, there are not many packages updated for the new ISO, but it is a waste of time to download the new ISO file and it will have an unnecessary impact on the network image. When I think about the release of Ubuntu8.04, the huge download load caused the hard disks of the cn99 source to be suspended, which delayed the use of many users. Jigdo was developed to mitigate the impact of large CD and DVD image files on the Debian image network.

As Jigdo downloads the software package, it will immediately write the downloaded software package into the CD image file, delete the software package, and then download the next software package, which will not waste hard disk space, therefore, it is suitable for those who often install new systems.

Steps:

1. Go to the Jigdo homepage http://atterer.net/jigdo/to download software packages corresponding to each platform. For example, download jigdo-lite 0.7.2 for Windows. The size is 1773 kB. After downloading the package, decompress the ZIP package and run it without compiling.

2. Running the jigde-lite.bat prompts the. jigdo index file that requires the CD image file, and the system generates the jigde-lite.bat file in the same directory of the jigdo-lite-settings.txt.

Now go to the http://www.debian.org/CD/jigdo-cd/ to find Official jigdo files for the "testing" distribution find the corresponding platform, such as my X86 computer, that is in the [i386] Directory, copy debian-testing-i386-CD-1.jigdo file address http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimag... ing-i386-CD-1.jigdo, then stick to the jigdo-lite-settings.txt after jigdo =.

Jigdo = 'HTTP: // response'
DebianMirror ="
NonusMirror ="
TmpDir = '.'
JigdoOpts = '? Cache jigdo-file-cache.db'
WgetOpts = '? Passive-ftp? Dot-style = mega? Continue? Timeout = 30 ′
ScanMenu ="

Three, run the jigde-lite.bat again, all the way to prompt press enter, if everything goes well, you are waiting to download the completed disc.

Jigdo Splits a large image file into many small software packages, which can be downloaded from multiple image sites close to users at the same time. In this way, the download speed will increase a lot. Of course, theoretically, I actually tested that it takes about four hours to download an ISO file than to download an ISO file directly. Generally, it takes about three hours to download an ISO file, however, the download will save a lot of time later.
