Nload is a Linux network traffic real-time monitoring software, because I often in Linux to monitor traffic monitoring, so chose it. Ubuntu installation is very simple.

You can install it via the sudo apt-get install nload .

When using, enter the nloaddirectly under the shell, and you will see the following screen.

Nload is also a tool that can display the speed in the terminal, you can show the speed by Nload-dh .

Description :

The default first line is the network card name and IP information, using the left and right keys on the keyboard to switch the network card.

The default top incoming is the traffic that enters the NIC;

The default bottom outgoing is the network card out of traffic;

Default right (curr current traffic), (AVG average traffic), (min min traffic), (max Max traffic), (TTL traffic statistics);

By default, the left side of the statistics is displayed using the display traffic graph, which is spelled out with the # number, based on the real-time traffic changes.

Problem: When the network card traffic is particularly large that exceeds the transmission rate of the network card itself, several values on the right will be fixed to negative. I feel as if the NIC is overloaded, so the calculation is wrong! Not very sure, I do not know if there are experts to understand this problem!!!

There are many parameters that can be used to help inside the example: Nload-t 200-i 1024-o 128-u M

To view the Parameters help command:

Nload–help

-A: This is like a refresh time period for all data, in seconds, and 300 by default.

-I: The display scale maximum setting of the traffic graph entering the network card, default 10240 kbit/s.

-M: No traffic graph is displayed, only statistics are displayed.

-O: Go out of the network card traffic graph display scale maximum setting, default 10240 kbit/s.

-T: Displays the refresh interval of the data, in milliseconds, by default 500.

-U: Sets the data units of the right Curr, AVG, Min, Max, which are automatically changed by default. Note The case is different!

H|b|k|m|g H:auto, b:bit/s, k:kbit/s, m:mbit/s etc.

h| b| k| m| G H:auto, b:byte/s, k:kbyte/s, m:mbyte/s etc.

-U: Sets the data unit of the right TTL, which is automatically changed by default. Note that the case units are different (same as-u)!

Devices: Custom monitoring of the network card, the default is all monitoring, using the left and right keys to switch.

If only monitor eth0 command: nload eth0
