Use of proxy in ftp download

Nowadays, many people think of ftp downloading software outside China. They are forced to go abroad and can only find a proxy. I will talk about how to use a proxy on the ftp client. In general, ftp can use three proxies: http, ftp, and socks, generally, the client supports socks and ftp proxies. For example, in FlashFXP, choose Option-> Preferences from the menu, and then the Setting dialog box appears, on the Proxy Server on the Proxy/Firewall/Ident page, select User with no login (user @ host: port) as the ftp Proxy Type, and enter the Proxy address and Port as the Host and port, of course, socks proxy Type should be socks5 or socks4, so that ftp and socks proxy can be used to access ftp sites outside China. Of course, FlashFXP can also be used as an http proxy. The proxy Type can be set to HTTP proxy, currently, the http and socks proxy methods are not used for setting proxy on the ftp client. The socks proxy uses the httport and sockscap software respectively.
1. Use socks proxy
To use socks proxy, you need to install sockscap software. In the setting Dialog Box of sockscap, enter the address and port of the socks proxy, and then set the ftp client software (such as leapftp and flashget) that requires proxy) add sockscap, and then run the corresponding ftp client in sockscap to access the ftp Proxy outside China.

2. Use http Proxy
To use http Proxy, you need to install the httport software. In the Setting dialog box, enter the http Proxy address and port, and click add in port mapping to add a New Mapping, enter the address and Port of the ftp server in the Remote Host and Remote port respectively, enter the Local listening Port (such as 21) in the Local port, and click the start button on the Proxy page, we can access ftp abroad through access 127.0.0.1: 21.

It must be noted that Internet Explorer, FlashFXP, and Flashget can use http proxy. Other ftp clients that do not support http proxy can use the httport software to indirectly use http proxy, it should also be emphasized that the http proxy used in ftp must support ssl, otherwise it will not be available. You will not have to look for an ftp proxy to access a foreign ftp site in the future.
