The Rindex () method returns the last index found in the child str, optionally restricting the search string string[beg:end] If no such index exists, throw an exception.


The following is the syntax for the Rindex () method:


1 Str.rindex (str, beg=0 End=len (String))


STR--This option specifies the string to search for.

Beg--This is the start index, by default 0

Len-This is the last index, by default it is equal to the length of the string.

return value

This method throws an exception if Str is found to return the last index.


The following example shows the use of the Rindex () method.


1 2 3 4 5 6 7 #!/usr/bin/python str1 = "This is string!!!";   STR2 = "is"; Print Str1.rindex (STR2); Print Str1.index (STR2);

When we run the above program, it produces the following results:


1 2 5 2
