Use PowerDesigner to convert the table structure in Oracle to the physical data model

I recently learned about the subtle relationship between PowerDesigner and oracle because of my work needs. I would like to share my summary with my friends.

1. Export the physical data model in oracle

1. The export process is a reverse engineering process. You can also use a familiar database modeling tool. The following describes how to export data using PowerDesigner.

Preparations:

A. Install PowerDesigner. This document uses version 12.5.

B. Install the oracle client (32-bit, 64-bit does not seem to be supported)

C. If the oracle client is not installed, ignore step B. But if you want to continue, you have to have a table creation script. (Ps: SQL file yo)

D. Even the English language is not good, so the Chinese language is just a bit better. If you are a good English speaker, you can check the English language on your own.

2. Open PowerDesigner and follow the procedure.

Then, select the database type. Here, select oracle. Other types of databases should be similar. Please study them on your own.

3. Next, we will see two options. One is to use database script modeling, and the other is to connect to the database modeling. Below first

Let's talk about using the database script for modeling. OK. Select the script to start.

This is the end, and the rest of the process will be automatically completed by PowerDesigner.

4. Another case may be the most common case. You need to connect to a remote database for modeling. OK. Let's explain it through operations.

First, select a database, for example, operation.

Here we will break down the detailed action of Configure:

After you select Configure... in the previous step, the following page will be displayed. The remaining three steps are OK after you proceed step by step.

So far, our data source has been configured. If you have configured the data source information in the past, you can directly go to the last step and select table modeling.

5. When we connect to the database, click OK in the select modeling data source window to view the following page.

So far we have obtained the physical data model through reverse engineering, but how can we get the Logical Data Model?
