Windows implementation of Ubuntu12.04 LTS installed in VMware Workstation virtual machines with putty Login
1. Download putty software: http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html, download Putty.exe, the software is not allowed to install, download directly can run;
2. ViewUbuntu12.04 IP Address:InUse the Ctrl+alt+t shortcut key on Ubuntu12.04 lts in the VMware Workstation virtual machine to open a terminal and view the IP address of the Ubuntu system at the terminal Input ifconfig command. Locate the inet address in the eth0 that is the IP.
2.make clear that you can ping the remote Ubuntu or virtual machine:In the local use of CMD into the command line, ping eth0 IP address, if you can ping to continue the next step, if not, the virtual machine in the network is set to bridge the way, and then ping, if not yet, set up the network in the Ubuntu system.
3. If you can ping, then open the Putty software, in the host Name or IP address column to enter the above IP addresses, if there is a timeout can not log in the situation, the reason may not be opened Ssh-server service, Then install the Ssh-server service on the Ubuntu terminal by entering the following command:
sudo apt-get install Openssh-server
Then use the following command to see if Sshserver is started:
Ps-e |grep SSH
If only ssh-agent that Ssh-server has not started, need/etc/init.d/ssh start, if you seeSsh-agent andSSHD Two services, that means that Ssh-server has been started, and then re-connect with putty.
The default port for the 4.putty connection is 22, if you want to change the Putty connection port, modify the Ssh-server configuration file, change port 22 to another, and remove the previous comment to make it effective.
The file is located in/Etc/ssh/sshd_config, where you can define the SSH service port, the default port is 22, you can define yourself as a different port number, such as 222.
It is best to restart the SSH service and log in with putty:
Sudo/etc/init.d/ssh Resart
5.putty connection Successful, prompted: Login as:, then enter the user name of Ubuntu, then prompted to enter a password, then you can use Putty to operate the Linux system on the virtual machine.
The advantage of using putty is the ability to paste with the copy command, while the Linux system in the virtual machine is not copy-pasted.
