Use rEFind in UEFI + GPT to implement Win10 + Kali2.0 Dual Boot
1. Install Win10 and Kali2.0: 1. Install and activate Win10:

I will not repeat the installation of Win10 here. There are many activation tools, such as kms.

2. Install Kali2.0:

A. This is from the official website of kali2.0: https://www.kali.org/downloads/. I download a 64-bit release.

B. Then I used UltraISO's hard disk image writing function to write kali2.0 ISO to the USB disk.

C. Plug in the boot USB flash drive and adjust the boot preference to USB. Different computers may have different modification methods. Please use Baidu.

D. There is no difference in the installation steps. We only need to stop when installing GRUB and skip GRUB boot installation.

E. Wait until the installation is complete and restart the system to go to the Windows system.

Ii. rEFind installation and dual-boot implementation:

The biggest feature of this section is that you can install rEFind and implement dual-boot without entering the PE system. You can download the related tool software in Win:

Free in http://linux.bkjia.com/

The username and password are both www.bkjia.com

The specific download directory is in/June 29/June 29/June 29/UEFI + GPT, and rEFind is used to implement Win10 + Kali2.0 Dual Boot/

For the download method, see

A total of four tools (UltraISO is used in the previous step, in fact this step only uses three other );

After talking about a lot of things, they are all nonsense. Now, let's get started:

1. rEFind installation:

First, open DiskGenius, find the ESP partition, which is our EFi boot partition, right-click and select "assign new drive letter (drive letter )"

Then you can select any one.

I chose Z:

Then, confirm that the assignment is successful!

Then go to ESP and open the EFI folder,

Right-click the blank area and create a new file named rEFind!

Double-click the rEFind folder and we will start to move the file!

Decompress refind.zip

Create a file, write a file like refind. conf-sample, and name it refind. conf.

It doesn't matter if you don't write it. You can create an empty file, but you must have refind. conf. Otherwise, an error will be reported during startup.

Put the files one by one,

Note: Due to software functional limitations, you can only manually create folders, but you can move one directory at a time.

As follows:

Note that the files in the folder must also be moved in!

Next we should use another tool named BOOTICE.

After decompression, you will find that there are two files, one is 64 bits and the other is 32 bits, and the other is 64 bits to choose booticex64.exe. Open the software interface:

We chose UEFI:

Select modify startup sequence:

Click Add:

Enter the path here:

Of course, this also depends on the drive letter you first assigned. I previously assigned Z: So Z: \ EFI \ rEFind;

Then, because I am a 64-bit user,

Then click open:

After the prompt is successful,

Modify menu title:

I changed it to rEFind. Click "Move Up,

Until the top:

Click "save current startup settings (S )",

Click Close.

Restart your computer,

Then we can use Win10 and Kali2.0 in a pleasant UEFI + GPT mode.

3. Summary

To sum up, the key to my tutorial is to use rEFind to take over system startup, so grub is not installed!
