Use SQL Server metadata to list tables that constitute a view

In general, you can access SQL Server metadata through a system stored procedure or information_schema view. When a query window is used, the system stored procedures are perfect and optimized for a database administrator, but not all of them apply to applications.ProgramThis is because you may be asked to further filter information and thus reduce performance. Therefore, I decided to obtain the required information from the information_schema view of SQL Server.

In the following example, I will obtain basic table information for the 'vemployee' view of the 'adventureworks' database.

Obtain the syntax and example of a basic table in a view.
