Use the disabled optical drive software to teach you how to disable the automatic operation of the optical drive and how to disable the settings of the optical drive in bios.
Local networks of enterprises and institutions are in the security management of computer files. You must disable the Use of Computer Optical drives, especially the use of burning optical drives. So, how do I disable the use of the computer optical drive, disable the optical drive, and shield the use of the optical drive? You can use the following methods:

Method 1

1. restart the computer and press the DEL key to enter the BIOS settings (according to my method, your machine will not be faulty, and you do not need to unplug the optical drive line. I believe you will succeed ).

2. After Entering the BIOS, do not panic in English. I will tell you how to do it. Select integrated peripherals and press Enter;

3. See On-Chip Secomdary pci ide (the second pci ide interface is built in the motherboard ):

Meaning-[Enabled], [Disbled] disabled,

All your physical optical drives are connected to the second IDE interface of the motherboard. disable this interface.

[Switch [Enabled] (used) and [Disbled] (disabled) with the key page up/page down] and select Disbled to disable it

The older bios uses the On-Chip chananll IDE To represent the IDE interface. Disable the next one.

This step is very important. You can see that the operation is in progress!

4. Press F10 after the change is complete. The save & exit dialog box is displayed. Press Y on the keyboard and press Enter.
(ENTER) the machine starts to restart automatically. Disable the optical drive IDE2 in BIOS.

Method 2

Restart and press the delete key to enter BIOS settings.

2. Select the Standard CMOS Features option, select the IDE of the optical drive, and select no install (that is, not all optical drives)

3. Disable all your physical optical drives in the system. But do not prohibit virtual optical areas. For example, in Win2000/WinXP, right-click "my computer", choose "hardware", choose "Device Manager", and select the "Optical Drive" option, select "do not use this device (disable)" in the "device usage" option )".

Method 3

Right-click my computer, select "property" -- "" Device Manager "tag --" click "CDROM" and select your specific optical drive model -- "click" in the lower-left corner of the dialog box "properties" --" click "set" label -- "to cancel the check before" auto insert announcement.

If the registry is invalid, You Can Run REGEDIT to open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ ENUM \ SCSI \, then you can find the corresponding items of your optical drive (this should be visible to everyone), and then click the mess below it. Then there will be an AutoInsertNotification item in the right pane, if your CD will be self-running, its value should be 01. If you want to disable auto-running, double-click it and change the value to 00.

Method 4

After you enable the system to boot into BIOS settings, you can set both the software drive and the optical drive to None. After the self-check, although the software drive is blocked, the optical drive can still perform self-check and go to Windows, you can still perform read/write operations on the optical drive. Isn't it possible to block the optical drive in the BIOS? Only the data cable or power cord of the optical drive is unplugged? If I need to plug it in again when I want to use it, it is really troublesome! I suddenly thought that the optical drive is usually connected to the second IDE interface on the motherboard, and I tried to block the second IDE interface. So I found the setting item of the second IDE interface, gave it to Disabled and then went to Windows, and failed to perform read/write operations on the optical drive.

Method 5

Although the above method can be used to prohibit the use of optical drive. However, sometimes we need to use the playing function of the optical drive, such as playing the video file of the optical drive, playing the read-only disc, or installing some software or operating systems through the optical drive, in this case, you also need to use the BIOS to disable the optical drive. However, this operation is complex and cumbersome. Once the optical drive is disabled, the burning function of the optical drive can be enabled. In addition, some technical staff can even directly enter the BIOS by discharging the BIOS and removing the BIOS password, so as to re-enable the optical drive.

Therefore, the above methods to prohibit the use of optical drives through the BIOS are rough, but also face a large vulnerability, cannot achieve precise and effective control of the optical drive. Therefore, you can disable or release the optical drive by using a dedicated computer optical drive and blocking the optical drive.

Currently, there are many specialized software for disabling optical drive in China, which can be easily disabled. For example, there is a "portable to USB port disabling software" (: http://www.grabsun.com/monitorusb.html), not only can completely prohibit the use of computer USB flash drives, mobile hard drives and mobile phones and other USB storage devices, in addition, you can directly disable the use of optical drives and software drives. You can also disable the use of the drive without burning function, the use of a DVD or VCD optical drive is just a normal playback function, thus achieving precise and effective control of the optical drive. If you want to temporarily resume the use of the optical drive, you only need to cancel the check box. As shown in:

Figure: Disable the optical drive or enable the playback function of the optical drive.
In short, whether it is to disable the optical drive through the BIOS or the software used to shield the optical drive, you can disable the optical drive, but compared with the BIOS, you can use the special software to disable the optical drive to implement more rigorous feature, and the operation is also relatively simple. Which method can be used, enterprises and institutions can choose based on their own needs.
